Botswana Travel Agent Expert

Botswana is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, known for its political stability, diverse wildlife, and vast natural landscapes. The country is home to the Okavango Delta, one of the world’s largest inland deltas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With a strong commitment to conservation, Botswana boasts numerous national parks and game reserves. Its economy is largely driven by diamond mining, tourism, and agriculture. The capital city is Gaborone, and the country is celebrated for its peaceful democracy and relatively high standard of living in the region.

Best time to visit Botswana:

May to October – Dry season, best for safaris and wildlife viewing.

November to April – Green season, great for birding and lush scenery, but some rain.

Here are the top 5 places to visit in Botswana (no links included):

  • Okavango Delta – A lush and expansive inland delta, ideal for wildlife viewing, birdwatching, and traditional canoe safaris.

  • Chobe National Park – Known for its dense elephant population and excellent river safaris along the Chobe River.

  • Moremi Game Reserve – A diverse and wildlife-rich area within the Okavango Delta, offering both land and water-based safari experiences.

  • Makgadikgadi Salt Pans – Vast, shimmering salt flats that transform during the rainy season and attract large herds of zebra and flamingos.

  • Tsodilo Hills – A sacred site with thousands of ancient rock paintings, offering insight into the spiritual and cultural history of the San people.

Here are the top 10 activities to do in Botswana:

  • Visit the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans – Explore the vast, otherworldly salt flats, especially during the wet season when wildlife congregates.

  • Camping Under the Stars – Enjoy a night under the African sky in a remote campsite, experiencing the sounds of the wild and the stunning starlit views.

  • Fishing in the Okavango Delta – Try your hand at catch-and-release fishing, targeting species like tigerfish in this prime fishing location.

  • Cultural Tour to Tsodilo Hills – Visit this UNESCO World Heritage site to explore ancient rock paintings and learn about the San people's history.

  • Horseback Safaris – Ride through the savannahs and interact with wildlife on horseback, offering a unique and intimate experience with nature.

Another fabulous trip!
Rey has booked several domestic and international trips for me over the years. Each time the experience was fantastic. Rey is not only a knowledgeable and experienced travel agent, he is patient with groups and always provides stellar customer service. The resorts are always fabulous and his recommendations on what to do when we arrive at our destinations make my vacations more enjoyable. I’ve counted on Rey to book fabulous vacations for over 10 years and he always delivers the best. I’ve always enjoyed the individual attention and care Rey provides his clients. He understands the apprehension that comes along with trying new places and is thorough and accommodating as a result. He’s also great at making suggestions on future vacations and I’ve never been disappointed when I follow his suggestions. Rey will remain my travel confidante for many years to come. He’s the best, hands down!

We have worked with Rey for many years and have always enjoyed the experience. Most of our travel has been river cruises in Europe but last year we did a trip to South Africa. Rey is very thoughtful, thorough and responsive.
